Week 4 - Part 7 - DIY Body Care and Cleaning Products
Whilst this program is mostly about food, we also wanted to share a few of our favorite ways to switch up some common household items, to further reduce the toxic overload in your home.
These are all so simple, easy and quick - you will wonder why you have not tried them earlier 🙂
Our Favourite Body Care Products
One of the most common questions we get in the AFME Facebook group is - what do we use for personal/body care products (deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, face creams, makeup etc)
The truth is, after being asked this over and over again, we decided to stock our favourite body care products in our online store - all of which are totally safe to use, all have been tested by us (and our own families) and we are 100% in love with everything we stock on our website.
But, as we are always honest with you guys, our most favourite way to wash our face is by using coconut oil. Yep - solidified organic coconut oil. It's an amazing face/makeup remover!
Check out Tracey's video below to see her remove a face full of makeup in a matter of seconds.
Cleaning Products - what do we clean with?
We never really thought much about cleaning products, we knew not to use the harsh ones around kids, like bleach and oven cleaner for example, but things like multipurpose sprays we'd use daily, multiple times a day - and think nothing of it!
Unfortunately these sprays are full of nasty toxins our bodies just don't need. A lot of ingredients are hormone disrupters, linked to thyroid damage and loads more. It's really #notcool
Lucky though, it's actually really easy to make your own cleaning products, and cheap too. But if you don't want to make your own, check out the Resparkle Range of cleaners on our website.
One of the easiest cleaning pastes to make consists of a bit of bi-carb soda, a drizzle of white vinegar and some drops of doTERRA Wild Orange essential oil - best oven cleaner in the world!!
