Week 3 - Part 4 - Sulphites...What Are They?
Sulphites are used as a preservative in some drinks, foods and even medication.
They are known to cause allergy type reactions (or intolerance's) in some people, especially those with an underlying asthma condition. In fact, it is recommended that asthmatics avoid all products and food containing sulphites.
Sulphites release sulfur dioxide, which is the active component that helps preserve food and medication.
Sulphites are a major no-no in Jo's house. This is because of the 'asthma causing' effects it has on her daughter.
You may be a little surprised where this preservative is lurking around, so click on the Fact Sheet to find out more.

Let's Talk Sulphites With Georgia Harding from Well Nourished
We're really excited to speak with Georgia Harding from Well Nourished. This busy mum of two is a naturopath and runs a very popular Facebook group called Well Nourished Lunch Box.
Today she talks all things Sulphites (please don't shoot the messenger about the wine!). There's naturally occurring sulphites and synthetic ones, of course it's the synthetic ones we refer to. You can read more about the two in the fact sheet.
